RADDERDAZE: Swimsuit Area, Black Sam Malone, and Maudlin at Ed’s (no name) Bar

RADDERDAZE is every first Saturday of the month at Ed’s (no name) Bar bringing you rad bands for less clams.

SWIMSUIT AREA
(no-wave post-punk)
Minneapolis, MN

Swimsuit Area is a band that doesn’t seem to care much about convention. They decided they needed two bass players and to replace the guitar with electric mandolin and violin. I’m glad they did—because it’s pretty rad. Creative songwriting and arrangement along with Rebecca’s over the top vocal performances really tie it all together. You haven’t seen anything like these guys yet.

BLACK SAM MALONE
(lo-fi fuzz pop)

Minneapolis, MN

Black Sam Malone are 3 dudes channeling Devo and making fuzzy lo-fi garage pop. It started with Aaron LeMay (of International Espionage!, Diver Dress and the Mark Mallman band) wanting to do something a little different. The rest is what you’ll be hearing this Saturday.

MAUDLIN
(indie power pop)

 Minneapolis, MN

Maudlin is a three part power pop outfit featuring husband and wife David and Priscilla Priebe at the forefront. They like to write songs about things that go bump in the night, but also a few about how life can be sort of hard sometimes. If you like melodic hook driven indie rock with guy-girl harmonies and fuzzed out guitars then click here.
