Sunday, July 5, there will be a benefit for Melissa and Daniel Crawford at Ed’s (no name) Bar (252 E. 3rd St. Winona, MN). The benefit will feature a silent auction, bean bag tournament, food, drinks and a day full of music. The benefit starts at 2:00pm, and the suggested donation is $10.00. There will be folk, blues, americana and alt-country music performed throughout the day, featuring Jake Ilika (Minneapolis), Rachel Hanson (Stevens Point, WI) and locals The Wide Awakes, Mike Munson, Eli Fenrir, Adam Strelow, and Corey Koehler. Melissa was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis at age 23. Over the years, ongoing medical complications and many unanswered questions have mounted, leaving Melissa and Daniel surviving on one income, and struggling with overwhelming bills. All proceeds, including a portion of bar sales, will go towards offsetting the costs of their medical bills.
