RADDERDAZE is every first Saturday of the month at Ed’s (no name) Bar bringing you rad bands for less clams.
PORCUPINE
(post alt rock)
La Crosse,WI
Porcupine never fails to impress with their huge sound, masterful tones, and unique brand of heavy post-punk, complete with towering grooves, catchy melodic hooks, and Casey Virock’s songwriting. When things looked momentarily bleak after bassist and longtime member Davey Reinders decided to part ways with the band, something pretty big happend. The former bassist of legendary St. Paul hardcore punk band Hüsker Dü, Greg Norton, took his spot. This will be their first show with the new line-up.
MAIDEN MARS
(glitter grunge)
Iowa City, IA
Maiden Mars is an all-female witch (redudant, I guess) band that is self-proclaimed, “Wiccan as Fuck”. And don’t you start mumbling “gimmick” to yourself because they’ll put a spell on you and not give two cares about it. But enough about their religious leanings—these ladies wail. They’ve got gritty guitars, poppy three-part harmonies, and songs that kick you in the teeth while they’re getting stuck in your head. Three is a magic number when the maidens come to your town…so, sick nasty!
THE ULTRASOUNDS
(sludgy garage pop)
Winona, MN
The Ultrasounds used to be 3 chicks and 1 dude playing sludgy garage pop and drinking Steel Reserve. And while they still are—now they drink more gin and craft beers than before, and one of them became an art teacher. Don’t think they’ve lost sight of what’s actually important though. They’re still playing noisy rock ‘n’ roll music and as many shows in as many cities as possible.
